Two new species of Eleutherodactylus (subgenus Syrrhophus) from western Mexico.
We describe two new species of Eleutherodactylus, subgenus Syrrhophus, from two separate mountain ranges in western Mexico. Eleutherodactylus grunwaldi sp. nov. inhabits the Sierra de Manantlán in Colima and Jalisco from 1300 to 2200 m, whereas E. wixarika sp. nov. is known from a single locality in the Sierra Huichola of northern Jalisco at 2400 m, but is probably more widespread. Eleutherodac...
متن کاملThe draft genome of Ruellia speciosa (Beautiful Wild Petunia: Acanthaceae)
The genus Ruellia (Wild Petunias; Acanthaceae) is characterized by an enormous diversity of floral shapes and colours manifested among closely related species. Using Illumina platform, we reconstructed the draft genome of Ruellia speciosa, with a scaffold size of 1,021 Mb (or ∼1.02 Gb) and an N50 size of 17,908 bp, spanning ∼93% of the estimated genome (∼1.1 Gb). The draft assembly predicted 40...
متن کاملA new species of Glyphocrangon (Decapoda: Caridea: Glyphocrangonidae) from off the coast of western Mexico*
A new species of Glyphocrangon has been collected during deep-water sampling off western Mexico, in the east Pacific. The series of specimens, including both males and females, was found between 780 and 1879 m depth. Glyphocrangon sp. nov. is close to G. sicaria Faxon, 1893 and G. vicaria Faxon, 1896, both occurring in the east Pacific. It differs from both species, however, by the absence of t...

A new legume species from a seasonally dry forest of the Western Río Balsas Depression, in the states of Guerrero and Michoacán, Mexico, Erythrostemon guevarafeferii, is herein described and illustrated. The new species shows morphological affinities with Erythrostemon hintonii, from which it is distinguished in having fewer leaflets per pinna, mature leaflets disposed toward the upper half of ...
